CHC Helicopter makes Emergency Landing at Aberdeen Airport

29 May 2015

A helicopter made an emergency landing at Aberdeen Airport after an alarm went off during flight.

The Super Puma EC 225, operated by CHC Helicopter, landed safely just after 5pm on Thursday.

There were 19 passengers and two crew members on board.

The incident saw a full emergency declared at Aberdeen Airport.

CHC said an item of baggage had been leaning against a smoke detector stifling the flow of air around the instrument and an indicator had gone off.

The crew had reacted to the indicator but it was a false alarm.
